ATHENS – A haunting we will go!
There will be some spooky events for all ages this weekend in downtown Athens, according to Athens Main Street.
The Halloween celebration will kick off at Old Black Bear (311 S. Marion St.) Friday with Family Night from 3-5 p.m. The event provides a safe, fun environment for families with young children to enjoy Halloween activities in a welcoming atmosphere.
Continuing the family festivities, first responders will host their annual Trunk or Treat event (on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse) from 5-7 p.m., giving children another opportunity to collect treats while celebrating local heroes who serve the community.
“We’re thrilled to offer such a diverse range of Halloween activities that bring our community together throughout the entire weekend,” said Tere Richardson, executive director of Athens Main Street. “From our family-friendly events to our adult entertainment, we have something for everyone to create lifelong memories in downtown Athens.”
Then, it’s time for the evening events with the Merchants Alley (107 N. Jefferson St.) Happy Hour featuring the Limestoners from 5:30-7p.m.
Studio 16 Cigar Lounge (112 N. Marion St.) will have an adult costume party with live music, food, and giveaways beginning at 7 p.m.
Capping off Friday night, Irons & Ales (217 S. Madison St.) will host Adult Night featuring the band JUICE at 9 p.m., offering grown-up Halloween entertainment.
And that’s just for openers.
On Saturday, there are events for all ages.
