Federal, state offices closed today; city, county offices open

HUNTSVILLE — You won’t be getting mail today nor can you take care of your car tags at the state office.

Today is Columbus Day, a federal holiday and also an Alabama state holiday, meaning state offices and courts are closed.

However, county and city offices are open for business today. Most schools are in session, as well.

Other closings include banks and credit unions; Redstone Arsenal and the Marshall Space Flight Center.
