The North Alabama literature scene is booked and busy. July brought the first Rocket City Book Crawl, October brought Rocket City Lit Con and now the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is hosting The Great Big Book Festival.
Literary lovers are invited to gather at the Downtown Huntsville Public Library on Nov. 7 for a day of reading, writing and connecting with local literary lovers.
Doors open at 9 a.m. with a lineup of free programs taught by local authors and experts. Some of the programs include “Writing & Publishing” with author Georgina Cross, “Introduction to Playwriting” by Daniel Martin, “Why is Everyone Talking About LitRPG” by author Erin Ampersand.
In between attending programs, book lovers can meet featured authors such as children’s author Heather C. Morris, author of USA Today bestseller “The Oxford Guide to Scandal and Lies” Kate Westbury, and USA Today bestselling author Maggie Rapier.
In addition to a lineup of authors are an array of local bookish vendors like The Bookwyrm, CharmedbyNatalieAnn, Julie Crews Fine Art and more offering bookmarks, 3D printed bookish trinkets, and so many other literary goodies.
Atendees will not want to miss out on keynote author, Ariel Lawhon, who will discuss her most recent release, The Pirate Queen, during a ticketed event at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Great Big Book Festival turns a new page for local authors, bookish vendors and literary lovers to come together in celebration of the ever-growing literary scene in North Alabama.
