CULLMAN — In what could be a record-setting fundraising effort, Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger has reported raising almost $1.8 million for his leadership political action committee, FORGE PAC.
The $1,789,800 in contributions is believed to be the most raised by any committee of its kind in the history of the Alabama Senate, according to a news release from FORGE PAC.
The PAC, which was formed just seven months ago, submitted the required campaign finance report to the Secretary of State’s office.
“The Alabama Legislature is recognized by many as the most conservative in the nation, and we earned that title through hard work, tackling the tough issues head on, and remaining true to commonsense principles and core conservative values,” said Gudger (R-Cullman) said. “Our Senate Republicans have produced solid achievements and real results, and this record-breaking report signals that Alabamians across the state want us to continue on this course for another four years.”
Contributions made to FORGE PAC, according to Gudger, will be used to support the election efforts of incumbent conservative lawmakers that comprise the Republican supermajority, which currently holds 27 of 35 seats in the Alabama Senate.
Serving his second term in the Alabama Senate, Gudger was elected president pro tem on the first day of the 2025 regular session and immediately redoubled his fundraising efforts, the release said.
“Campaign season is no time for summer soldiers and sunshine patriots, so we will continue raising resources and supporting our incumbents every day until the 2026 election,” Gudger said. “Our goal is simple — returning a committed conservative supermajority to the Alabama Senate and completing our single-minded mission of making an already great state even better.”
