Rep. Reynolds launches reelection campaign for Alabama House District 21

HUNTSVILLE – State Rep. Rex Reynolds has announced he is seeking another term in the Alabama House of Representatives for the District 21 seat, according to a news release.

Reynolds, whose districts includes portions of Huntsville, Meridianville, and Hazel Green, is chair of the House Ways and Means General Fund.

Before entering the Legislature in 2018, Reynolds served the city of Huntsville for 34 years, finalizing his law enforcement career as Huntsville’s police chief and public safety director. In 2008, he joined Mayor Tommy Battle as city administrator.

Reynolds’ time in the Legislature has focused on public safety, expanding access to mental health, Veterans affairs, economic development, education, and cutting taxes.

In addition to the House Ways and Means Committee, Reynolds chairs the Oversight Commission on Alabama Opioid Settlement Funds, and serves on the Human Services and Public Safety Committee for the Southern Legislative Conference, working with colleagues from across the Southeast, the news release said.

The Republican primary election is May 19, 2026.
