Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County will mark two decades of service with a public celebration and ribbon cutting Friday, Feb. 27, at the Habitat ReStore in Decatur.

The event will take place at 1123 Central Parkway SW and is open to the community.

Festivities begin at 10 a.m., when Mookies Fresh Squeezed Lemonade and The Lunch Wagon will be on site serving refreshments and lunch. Organizers are encouraging guests to stop by, shop and spend time together as the nonprofit commemorates its 20th anniversary.

At 11:30 a.m., the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce will host an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to recognize the milestone.

Shoppers can also take advantage of special anniversary sales throughout the day, including 50% off all green-tag items. The 20th guest to arrive will receive a 25% off coupon to use at a later date.

Organizers say the celebration not only honors the past 20 years but also looks ahead, as the local affiliate prepares for its upcoming Women Build initiative, which encourages women to take a leading role in building homes and supporting affordable housing efforts in the community.

Proceeds from donations and purchases at the ReStore directly support Habitat’s mission of strengthening the community through homeownership opportunities.
