HUNTSVILLE — Five homeowners and art enthusiasts will turn their homes into art galleries during Arts Huntsville’s Art Tour of Homes Western Edition
The August Art Tour, set for Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is Arts Huntsville’s first bi-annual art adventure and the first Art Tour to expand to feature homes in west Huntsville, Madison and Mooresville. Tickets are $20 and available in advance by clicking here.
The Art Tour series is sponsored by ValleyMLS.com and is an opportunity for visitors to get inspired to either start an art collection or grow their current collection.
The homes featured this year include the Madison home of Joe and Sallie Estes; the Village of Providence home of Chandler and Betty Hall; the Magnolia Village home of Jim and Ted Spratt-Hall; the Mooresville home of Travis and Sue Hensley; and the Ashley Estates home of Tommy and Debbie Overcash.
Arts Huntsville’s Art Tour of Homes showcases how art is part of living spaces. It provides tour-goers greater understanding of how anyone – on any budget – can use art to enhance their environment.
It is also an opportunity to learn about the region’s growing and thriving arts community. Tour attendees will be provided with a guide to local galleries and visual art venues.
Ah, but there is more!
Marie and Joe Newberry are hosting the Art Tour Preview Party fund-raiser Aug. 18 from 6-8 p.m. This special social event will feature drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Visitors can mingle with fellow art enthusiasts and explore the Newberry’s eclectic collection of local and regional art. Tickets are $100 and must be purchased by Aug. 12. The price includes a ticket to the Aug. 20 public art tour.
The party serves as a fundraiser to support Arts Huntsville’s programs, including year-round promotions of area arts events and Arts Huntsville’s community events such as Panoply and the Monte Sano Art Festival.
