Huntsville attorneys open local office with Womble Bond Dickinson

HUNTSVILLE – Huntsville attorneys Richard Raleigh and Chris Lockwood recently joined the transatlantic law firm, Womble Bond Dickinson as partners, and opened the firm’s first Alabama office in Huntsville.

The duo will continue to work in Huntsville with Womble Bond Dickinson’s growing government solutions and global solutions teams.

Raleigh said they are excited about joining the growing roster of talented lawyers who have joined Womble, several of whom they have worked with.

“We have long-standing, deep relationships with our clients whose needs continue to increase in complexity and volume, and it was clear that Womble is equally committed to client service,” Raleigh said. “The firm’s global platform and full-service, cross-practice resources will benefit our clients significantly.”

Raleigh and Lockwood have significant experience in government contracts and complex business litigation before state and federal courts, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Government Accountability Office, and the Federal Circuit.

“This team brings a wealth of knowledge and decades of experience that will immediately strengthen and facilitate further growth of our Government Contracts practice, including in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, Nashville, and other markets,” said Jamie Francis, leader of the firm’s Corporate & Securities group and Government Contracts team. “Their breadth of insight will benefit all our clients’ providing goods and services to the federal government.”

After returning from service in the Army JAG Corps, Raleigh began his practice in Huntsville with a focus on litigation with an emphasis on government contracts, employment law, complex business litigation (including trade secret and non-compete litigation), and general civil litigation.

Lockwood focuses on government contracts and business litigation. He frequently handles bid protests before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Lockwood has also worked with size protests before the Small Business Administration and its Office of Hearings and Appeals.

He counsels clients on regulatory matters, including corporate issues, data rights, compliance with small business regulations, joint ventures, mentor/protégé issues, teaming agreements, subcontracts, and employment issues.
