As national security demands grow and pressure mounts on the defense industrial base, a Huntsville company says it is already prepared to respond.
Aurex announced earlier this month that its secure manufacturing facilities in Huntsville and Denver are fully built and immediately available to support defense and national security programs.
The company emphasized that the capacity, totaling 65,000 square feet, was developed ahead of demand, positioning it to help accelerate work on classified programs, rapid prototyping, precision manufacturing and systems integration without delay.
“We built ahead of demand because the U.S. cannot wait for critical manufacturing capacity to appear after requirements become urgent,” said Aurex Chief Executive Officer Warren Kohm. “This is not future capacity. Aurex is ready now.”
The announcement comes as the U.S. works to replenish munitions, expand defense production and reduce bottlenecks across the supply chain, challenges that have drawn increased attention from both military leaders and lawmakers.
Supporters say Huntsville’s role as a defense and aerospace hub makes it a key player in that effort.
“North Alabama has long been on the front lines of America’s national security mission,” said U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville). “This kind of ready capacity helps ensure we can move quickly to field the technologies that protect our warfighters and deter our adversaries.”
Aurex said its facilities are designed to support a wide range of missions, including missile defense, hypersonics, space systems, communications and counter-drone technologies — areas where delays in specialized manufacturing can slow larger programs.
By having infrastructure already in place, the company says it can help programs move forward faster at a time when speed and readiness are increasingly critical.
Headquartered in Huntsville, Aurex focuses on developing advanced aerospace and defense technologies and serves customers across the national security and space sectors.
