HUNTSVILLE — Creating a unified leadership structure and a strong culture of innovation was the driving force in a joint venture between two Huntsville small businesses
Canvas, a provider of engineering and mission systems solutions for national defense, has formed a joint venture with Verity Integrated Systems, a Native American, Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business focused on science and technology-based engineering.
The new entity, Tandem Aerospace & Defense, brings together two Huntsville-based companies aligned in mission, culture, and commitment to advancing capabilities for the warfighter.
The companies made the announcement Thursday at the Space and Missile Defense Symposium.
Tandem Aerospace & Defense unites Canvas and Verity’s complementary strengths to deliver integrated, high-performance solutions across critical defense domains including hypersonics, autonomy, software and data engineering, systems integration, and digital solutions.

Verity’s capabilities span systems engineering, mission planning, modeling and simulation, aerothermal analysis, industrial security, and multimedia solutions.
Canvas brings core strengths in hypersonics and advanced weapon system testing, artificial intelligence and autonomy, cyber, digital engineering, and software and data solutions.
Together, the two companies offer end-to-end technical depth, from early modeling and concept development to live testing, mission execution, and sustainment.
Tandem Aerospace & Defense will focus on delivering integrated solutions in areas such as advanced weapons testing, autonomous system development, mission planning, cyber and EW integration, and rapid digital prototyping.
The joint venture reflects a shared vision to align technical depth with operational execution and deliver results where they matter most.
