HUNTSVILLE — To underscore the city’s commitment to honoring and preserving Huntsville’s military history while enhancing the visitor experience, the City Council approved a construction contract with Chorba Contracting for the expansion of the Military Museum at John Hunt Park.
The $9.98 million project carries a 480-day construction timeline and will include the construction of a new pre-engineered metal building with insulated panels, modern storefront glazing, offices, a conference room and restrooms.
Limited renovations and repairs will also be made to the existing facility to support the overall expansion, which was designed by architect of record Jeffrey S. Alpha A.I.A.
Once complete, the expanded museum will serve as a cultural and educational resource for residents and visitors alike, paying tribute to veterans and military families while strengthening Huntsville’s reputation as a city that values service and sacrifice.
