HUNTSVILLE Fresh from picking up a point in a 1-1 draw (4-3 shootout loss) Sunday at Crown Legacy FC, the Huntsville City Football Club returns home to share their love of the Rocket City while protecting the galaxy.

And it will all take place at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.

On Saturday, the club will host “I Heart Huntsville Night” where fans can celebrate their appreciation of all things Huntsville. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

Representatives from the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Huntsville Police Department, Lowe Mill, Orion Amphitheater and Redstone Arsenal will join local officials and celebrities throughout the evening.

It will be capped off by the first HCFC fireworks show, presented by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Oorah!

Then, the force will be strong Aug. 17 when the crowd will be transported to a galaxy far, far away for “Star Wars” night.

Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite “Star Wars” characters and cheer on the Boys in Blue (the rebel alliance) as they take on New York Red Bull II, aka the evil empire.

Additionally, special “Star Wars”-related merchandise will be available in the Huntsville City FC team store.

A portion of the proceeds from the match will be given to the Downtown Rescue Mission, an organization helping people by providing daily meals, emergency services, medical clinics, and community outreach to those in need in North Alabama and South Tennessee.

Fans can purchase tickets to “I Heart Huntsville Night” here and to “Star Wars™ Night” here.

In Sunday’s match in Charlotte, N.C., HCFC (3W-11L-5D, 0SOW, 14 points) broke a scoreless game in the 71st minute when Tyler Pasnik found Ethan O’Brien, who fired the ball into the top right corner from just outside the box for his first goal of the season. Watch O’Brien’s goal here.

However, Crown Legacy (8-7-4, 3 SOW, 31) equalized on the last kick of regulation and earned the extra point with a 4-3 shootout win.
