Huntsville City FC ho-ho-hosts Columbus Crew 2 for Christmas in July

HUNTSVILLE — While it’s not really beginning to look a lot like Christmas, nevertheless Huntsville City FC is bringing the holiday spirit to Wicks Family Field for “Christmas in July.”

Fans are in for a festive treat Friday as Joe Davis Stadium will be transformed into a summer winter wonderland, complete with fake snow, a Christmas light display, holiday crafts, festive music, and more.

The first 100 fans through the gate will receive a free HCFC Christmas card.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, Huntsville City FC takes on Columbus Crew 2 in a highly anticipated Eastern Conference matchup.

Huntsville City brings a 6-4-5 record into the match, good for 26 points and seventh place in the conference. Columbus Crew 2 is 3-9-3 (13 points, 15th place). Kickoff is 7 p.m.

Supporters are encouraged to wear their favorite Christmas gear and help cheer the Boys in Blue to victory in a night full of holiday spirit and competitive soccer.
