Huntsville invites residents to public input session on Showers Center

HUNTSVILLE — If you’re a resident of Huntsville interested in helping improve the Dr. Richard Showers Sr. Recreation Center, the city is inviting you to a public listening session Tuesday at the facility.

“This is an excellent opportunity for stakeholders and patrons of the Showers Center to provide us with valuable feedback on what’s working well and what areas might need improvement,” said James Gossett, Director of Huntsville Parks & Recreation. “Given that this is one of our busiest and most popular facilities, we are eager to hear from the community and make adjustments based on their insights.”

The Showers Center is a cornerstone of the Huntsville community, named in honor of the late, long-serving member of the Huntsville City Council who represented District 1.

The facility features a wide range of facilities including an indoor pool, meeting rooms, outdoor walking track, splash pad, and basketball courts.

The listening session will begin at 6 p.m. The center is at 4600 Blue Spring Road.
