Food lovers will have a full month to explore the Rocket City’s growing dining scene as the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau kicks off its annual Culinary Month in August, highlighted by the return of Huntsville Restaurant Week from Aug. 14-23.
Now in its 15th year, Huntsville Restaurant Week has grown into a month-long celebration of the area’s culinary industry. The CVB established the event in 2012 to promote local restaurants and generate additional business for the hospitality industry before expanding it into Culinary Month in 2022.
Throughout August, participating restaurants, breweries and other food and beverage businesses will offer special events, exclusive menus and limited-time promotions, with Restaurant Week serving as the centerpiece of the celebration.
“Huntsville, Madison, and Madison County culinary masterminds — a community of bakers, chefs, brewers, and mixologists — have placed Rocket City on the map as a foodie destination,” said Jennifer Moore, president and CEO of the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The local food and beverage prowess satisfies patrons with flavors for virtually every palate.”
CVB representative Pam Williams said the region’s expanding culinary scene reflects the area’s continued growth.
“Each year, the variety within our dining scene grows, and it is exciting to celebrate,” Williams said. “Being home to Redstone, Marshall Space Flight Center, and scores of international companies attracts new residents who bring their culinary influences with them. This is reflected in the ever-growing variety of options. We encourage everyone to savor the flavors of the local cuisine and take advantage of Culinary Month special events throughout August.”
New this year is Food Truck Fridays at the Visitor Center, where food trucks will serve breakfast and lunch each Friday in August at the Huntsville/Madison County Visitor Center.
The CVB is also introducing the free 2026 Rocket City Dish Pass, allowing diners to check in at participating restaurants and events throughout Culinary Month for chances to win prizes while accessing menus, specials and event information.
In addition, the bureau will host social media giveaways throughout the month, offering gift cards to participating restaurants and encouraging diners to share their experiences using the hashtag #DineHSV.
