Another edition of the Regions Tradition has come and gone at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, and the champion was a popular one among the crowds in the Yellowhammer State.
Huntsville native Stewart Cink — who is the one of the top-ranked seniors in the world — secured his eighth victory on the PGA Tour Champions and second major of the season after winning the Senior PGA Championship last month to establish himself as the man to beat on the senior tour.
Cink has won four times already this season in just seven starts finishing top-ten in the three he did not win as well.

As is tradition, Cink got to ride on the green bike awarded to the winner of the event, cycling around the 18th green in front of friends and family in what was a special moment.

The 2009 Open Championship winner was born in Huntsville and grew up in Florence, attending Bradshaw High School where he was a star before committing to and attending Georgia Tech and eventually turning professional in 1995. After a decorated career on the PGA Tour that saw eight wins including a major, Cink has dominated since turning 50 years old and joining the senior tour, likely with more wins ahead this year.
Winning in his home state though had to be one of the most special moments of his career, and a title to which Cink will try to defend next season again in Birmingham.
