HUNTSVILLE — Fast chargers for electric vehicles are coming to downtown Huntsville.

The Huntsville City Council approved an agreement last week with Chattanooga-based Seven States Power Corp. to supply DC fast chargers. The chargers will be inside the municipal parking garage at 309 Pelham Ave. near Publix.

The city said the chargers are expected to be operational by the end of the summer.

The total cost will be $526,218 – 80% will be reimbursed by the Tennessee Valley Authority and Huntsville Utilities is responsible for the remaining balance of $105,243.
