Huntsville Police urge caution during annual Christmas parade

HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville Police Department advises drivers to expect traffic congestion and road closures in downtown Huntsville for Tuesday’s annual Huntsville Christmas Parade.

Several streets and intersections along the parade route will close in phases beginning at 5 p.m. The parade will start at 6 p.m. Impacted roads include Clinton Avenue, Church Street, Williams Avenue, Washington Street and Meridian Street.

The parade will begin at Lot K on Woodson Street Northwest and Clinton Avenue West, and end at the Lumberyard on Meridian Street North near Howe Avenue Northeast and Cleveland Avenue Northwest. Roads will reopen at 8 p.m.

HPD urges drivers to exercise caution, remain mindful of increased foot traffic and plan their travel routes accordingly.
