Huntsville showing ‘Moxy’ with new downtown mixed-use development

HUNTSVILLE — To say that downtown Huntsville has some ‘Moxy’ is pretty much the truth.

Not only is the area booming but a hotel by that name is about to join the party.

(City of Huntsville)

The Moxy, a Marriott boutique hotel, is part of a mixed-use development in Huntsville’s CityCentre. It will be adjacent to the public library, at the site of the former Huntsville Aquatic Center.

“At Moxy Hotels, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. But we’re seriously into showing you a good time with small but smart rooms, stylish communal spaces and bars you’ll love,” according to the Moxy/Marriott website.

The Moxy and the mixed-use development will also be bordered by a possible parking garage to its southeast.

No date has been set for a start of construction.
