Top Division II women’s lacrosse programs will converge on Rocket City this weekend as the Gulf South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship returns to the Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex.
The two-day tournament begins Friday, April 24, with semifinal matchups and concludes Sunday, April 26, with the championship game.
Local interest will center on UAH Chargers women’s lacrosse, which enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed and is ranked among the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association top 25. UAH is set to face No. 3 seed Lander in a semifinal matchup scheduled for 2 p.m. Central Time on Friday.
In the opening semifinal, top-seeded Flagler Saints women’s lacrosse, the nation’s No. 1 ranked Division II program with a 17-0 record, will take on No. 4 seed Lee at 11 a.m. Central Time. Winners of the semifinal contests will advance to the championship game Sunday at noon.
The event brings some of the nation’s top Division II talent to Huntsville and highlights the city’s growing reputation as a destination for collegiate athletics and championship competition.
Tickets will be available digitally and at the gate, with general admission priced at $10 per day and $5 for students. Children ages five and under will be admitted free.
