HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville drivers who use Drake Avenue near Redstone Arsenal will face traffic delays today.

Contractors for Huntsville Utilities Electric Operations have closed both eastbound lanes of Drake Avenue between Triana Boulevard and The Prado Street SW to change out a pole and upgrade a switch.

Eastbound traffic will be diverted into the turning lane during this project, which will last from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Motorists are asked to avoid this area if possible because workers will be present.

If possible, plan alternate routes to minimize any inconvenience. If alternate routes are not available, be prepared for shifting traffic patterns and possible delays.
