HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville Utilities customers will not face late fees or service disconnections for nonpayment during the federal government shutdown, the utility said today.

This is an extension of the temporary suspension that was initiated during the enterprise software transition, the utility said.

“Many of our customers are directly or indirectly affected by this government shutdown, and we want to give them one less thing to worry about during this uncertain time,” said Wes Kelley, president & CEO of Huntsville Utilities. “Our priority is to support this community and ensure uninterrupted service while people focus on their families and essential needs.”

Until further notice, Huntsville Utilities:

  • Will not charge late fees
  • Will not disconnect service for nonpayment
  • Will work with customers on payment arrangements once normal government operations resume.

Customers who have questions or need additional assistance are encouraged to contact the Huntsville Utilities Contact Center at 256-535-1200 or [email protected].
