The Huntsville Music Office is congratulating two North Alabama music talents as they celebrate recognition on the national stage with nominations for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

Huntsville-area artist Adia Andrews and Grammy-winning producer Kelvin Wooten both earned nods in this year’s Grammy lineup, highlighting the region’s growing impact in gospel and R&B music.

Adia Andrews, a Sparkman alum known professionally as ADIA, received her first Grammy nomination in the Best Gospel Performance/Song category for her songwriting contribution to Amen, performed by Birmingham-born contemporary gospel artist Pastor Mike Jr.

The song is among the nominees in a category recognizing excellence in traditional and contemporary gospel music and songwriting.

Also earning Grammy recognition is North Alabama-based Kelvin Wooten, a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer whose work is featured on two nominated R&B albums: “Why Not More?” by Coco Jones and “Escape Room” by Teyana Taylor. Both projects are up for Best R&B Album at this year’s awards.

Wooten has long worked behind the scenes with major artists across R&B, soul, and pop, and has collaborated with the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Mary J. Blige and others throughout his career.

The Grammy Awards ceremony is set for Sunday, Feb. 1, with the pre-show beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT.
