Huntsville’s up tempo music scene takes center stage at Quarterly Music Meetup

HUNTSVILLE – Excitement about the Huntsville music scene is reaching a crescendo and the city’s music officer will provide an update this week.

The Huntsville Music Office will host the first HSV Quarterly Music Meetup of the year Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Joe Davis Stadium.

The free event highlights the latest developments in Huntsville’s thriving music scene and offers musicians, industry professionals and community stakeholders a chance to network, share ideas and collaborate. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Music Officer Matt Mandrella and members of the Huntsville Music Board. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

“We’re seeing our music scene really take off,” Mandrella said. “Our city is rapidly becoming a destination for both live music fans and the incredible artists who are making it happen. Through initiatives like our Music Ambassador Program, we’re helping our musicians spread the word about Huntsville’s vibrant music culture in cities across the country.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of Huntsville’s dynamic music community.”

Mandrella will provide key updates on Huntsville’s music initiatives, including the successful Music Ambassador Program (MAP), 805 After Five, Make Music Day and Huntsville Music Month in September.

He will also discuss his recent participation in UK Americanafest in London, where he took part in panel discussions and previewed a new documentary on Muscle Shoals, which highlights The Orion Amphitheater.
