Inaugural ‘A Claus for Celebration’ at Huntsville’s Legacy Park to bring community together

HUNTSVILLE – The holiday spirit and bringing the community together will shine brightly at “A ‘Claus’ for Celebration,” which promises to warm even the Grinch-iest of hearts.

District 1 Councilmember Michelle Watkins invites the community to join her Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson Legacy Center and Legacy Park, 6000 Cecil Fain Drive. The free event will feature visits by Santa Claus, free hot chocolate and performances by saxophonist Alex D. Banks and the Jemison High School band and choir.

“I’m excited to kick off this new holiday tradition,” Watkins said. “This event is open to everyone in Huntsville, no matter which district you call home. It’s a chance for our entire community to come together, celebrate the season and create lasting memories.”

The festivities will culminate with a tree-lighting ceremony.

Huntsville Parks & Recreation will collect new or gently used coats, hats and gloves as part of its Cozy Care Holiday Drive.
