Lake Guntersville Chamber opens nominations for annual community awards

The Lake Guntersville Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for its annual Business of the Year, Educator of the Year, and Citizen of the Year awards, recognizing individuals and organizations that have made a meaningful impact on the Guntersville community.

Nominations are open through January 9 and are available through the Chamber’s website. Award recipients will be honored for excellence, leadership, and long-term dedication to improving quality of life in the Lake Guntersville area.

The Business of the Year award, established in 2023, recognizes a Chamber member business that demonstrates strong community involvement, leadership, innovation, and a positive local impact through service, philanthropy, or ethical business practices.

The Educator of the Year award, first presented in 1989, honors an educator whose work reflects academic excellence, community engagement, and a sustained commitment to student success and the advancement of education in Guntersville.

The Citizen of the Year award, established in 1986, recognizes an individual who has shown exceptional leadership, service, and dedication to the community through volunteerism, professional contributions, or civic involvement.

The Lake Guntersville Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit membership organization focused on promoting economic growth while preserving the area’s quality of life. The Chamber represents more than 1,200 business professionals and has served the Guntersville community for more than 87 years.
