GUNTERSVILLE — The holidays are here and it’s time to celebrate at Alabama’s state parks.
From enjoying holiday treats while waiting for pictures with Santa to making Christmas decor, prepare to be dazzled with the holiday happenings at Lake Guntersville State Park.

Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies while waiting to meet Santa and decorate ornaments and wreaths to take home.
While Saturday’s event is free, there is a $5 per ornament and a $10 per wreath fee. This fee covers the cost of item and all supplies. Text 256-486-8071 with the number of guests interested in decorating a wreath or ornament.
Joe Wheeler State Park is hosting its 49th annual Parade of Lights on Saturday.
Enjoy a traditional Christmas buffet from 4-8 p.m. at Daniella’s Restaurant, and make sure to stop by at 6 p.m. as the boats glide across the water with dazzling holiday lights.
Don’t miss the best part of the night – a stop to see Santa at the Lodge lobby. Come for the event and stay to wake up to a beautiful Joe Wheeler State Park sunrise.Â
