DALLAS – Following the league’s final regular-season games, the field is set for the 2025 Conference USA Basketball Championships. Liberty earned the top seed after ending the year with a 25-6 overall record and a 13-5 mark in league play.
This is the second season the tournament is hosted at the Von Braun Center Propst Arena in Huntsville and features all 10 teams.
Championship week begins with two first-round games Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. between No. 8 Texas-El Paso (17-14, 7-11 CUSA) and No. 9 Sam Houston (13-18, 6-12 CUSA), followed by No. 7 Western Kentucky (17-14, 8-10 CUSA) and No. 10 Florida International (9-22, 3-15 CUSA) at 8 p.m.
The Flames will face the winner between the Miners and the Bearkats to open Wednesday’s quarterfinal action at 5:30 p.m. Jacksonville State (20-11, 12-6 CUSA) owns the No. 2 seed and will face the winner between the Hilltoppers and Panthers to round out Wednesday’s contests at 8 p.m.
The quarterfinals continue Thursday with No. 4 Kennesaw State (18-13, 10-8 CUSA) challenging No. 5 New Mexico State (17-14, 10-8 CUSA) at 5:30 p.m., followed by No. 3 Middle Tennessee State (21-10, 12-6 CUSA) versus No. 6 Louisiana Tech (20-11, 9-9 CUSA) at 8 p.m.
The semifinals will take place at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, and the championship final will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
