HUNTSVILLE — It’s a bird … it’s a plane … it’s a paper airplane?

John Collins, known as the Paper Airplane Guy, will be flying long and high Saturday into the U.S. Space & Rocket Center where he will hold paper airplane demonstrations and lessons on how to aerodynamically fold the perfect paper airplane to achieve the longest flight possible.

Held throughout the day in the Davidson Center for Space Exploration’s Saturn V Hall, Collins will share his crazy cool secret on the design that in 2012, set the Guinness World Record for the longest paper airplane flight of 226 feet, only recently broken by a team at Boeing in 2023.

Collins is considered the world’s foremost expert on paper airplanes with his plane designs recognized around the globe.

He has authored four books, translated into four languages, of original designs and one of his planes was featured in the movie “Paper Planes”.

His designs are routinely found at the Red Bull Paper Wings World Finals.

Admission to the event is included in general admission to the Space & Rocket Center.
