ATHENS – Limestone County residents interested in pursuing a degree in advanced manufacturing, construction, healthcare, or information technology are invited to apply for 2024 scholarships.

The Limestone County Economic Development Association awarded $18,000 in aid during 2023.

“These funds allow companies to give back into their future workforce by providing scholarships to local high school seniors as well as those who are going back for additional education,” LCEDA President and CEO Bethany Shockney said. “It is so rewarding to see people achieve their goals and receive good paying jobs right here in Limestone County.”

The online application is at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2024CTEScholarships. The deadline to apply is March 22.

Funds for the scholarship are raised through LCEDA’s annual golf tournament at Canebrake Golf Club.

“Along with our job shadowing and partners in education programs, being able to help students financially receive their degree is so important to help retain employees here in Athens and Limestone County,” said Pammie Jimmar, Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce president.
