HUNTSVILLE — There is a possibility of severe weather on the drive home from work today, according to the National Weather Service Huntsville office.
The office said a low to medium risk of severe weather exists ahead of a cold front forecast to push through the area, bringing damaging winds, moderate to heavy rainfall. The forecasters said there is “low confidence” in hail and “very low confidence” for tornadoes.
The storms are expected to enter northwest Alabama early in the afternoon from the west and leave the region late tonight.
Meanwhile, temperatures should reach a high of 79 degrees around noon with a low of 65 degrees.
There is a low chance of strong to severe storms Friday as the cold front pushes through the area, bringing threats of damaging winds and large hail once again, the weather office said.
Thunderstorm chances are forecast to linger into Saturday, however, severe weather is not in the forecast.
