ATHENS – Workforce recruitment in North Alabama benefits from a regional approach.
Mazda Toyota Manufacturing has partnered with the Round Island Creek Missionary Baptist Association in Athens to welcome job seekers from across the area looking for a career change.
The Career Fair and Community Workshop is Saturday from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the RICMBA Complex, 13829 Lucas Ferry Road in Athens. It is open to the public and no preregistration is required.
“The Round Island Creek Missionary Baptist Association is very excited about the partnership with Mazda Toyota Manufacturing,” said Pastor Timothy Townsend, RICMBA moderator. “Our organization consists of 24 churches in Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties.
“We are looking forward to a great turnout. Part of the excitement is being able to provide our community the stability of a great job with a one-of-a-kind company.”
Visitors can meet with MTM recruiters on the spot, or apply online for production positions. There is also a “Day of Work Assessment” workers can schedule at their convenience.

Mazda Toyota is hiring through 2022. Production positions start at $19 per hour for first shift, and $20.35 an hour for second shift with a $3,000 sign-on bonus to start by Aug. 29.
