Motorcyclist shot in apparent road rage incident in Decatur

DECATUR – Decatur police are investigating an apparent road incident which left a motorcyclist in critical condition with a gunshot wound.

According to police, around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a shooting near the 1800 block of 6th Ave. SE. 

There they found a motorcyclist with an apparent gunshot wound. The motorcyclist was transferred to UAB Hospital where he remains in critical condition. 

 A second man at the scene was detained for questioning. Police did not release the names of the men involved.

During the course of the investigation, police said both individuals were southbound on 6th Avenue and involved in what is believed to be an apparent road rage incident. 

No arrests have been made, police said.
