CULLMAN — Republican Cindy Myrex has been elected to represent Alabama House District 12 in a special general election Tuesday.

This seat became vacant this year when former State Rep. Corey Harbison resigned to spend more time with his family. The district includes portions of Cullman County.

With 100% of the precincts reporting Myrex, a Realtor, unofficially received 1,944 votes (87.06%) to defeat Democrat Matt Glover with 287 votes (12.85%). There were two write-in votes.
