Nominations open for Athens/Limestone Chamber Small Business Awards

ATHENS – It’s that time of year to celebrate small business.

The Athens/Limestone County Chamber of Commerce is officially putting out its call for nominations for the 2023 Small Business Awards.

The deadline for nominations is July 19.

Small businesses are vital to the country’s economic health and the backbone of Athens and Limestone County communities.

The Small Business of the Year awards honor exceptional companies and organizations that serve the area’s residents, and that celebrate the ingenuity and achievements of small businesses within the Chamber membership.

Award nominations this year fall in eight categories:

  • Emerging Business of the Year
  • Small Business of the Year (1-10 Employees)
  • Small Business of the Year (11-50 Employees)
  • Small Business of the Year (51-250 Employees)
  • Manufacturer of the Year
  • Nonprofit of the Year
  • Health/Medical Services Business of the Year
  • Woman-Owned Business of the Year

Nominees will be notified after July 19 and invited to complete the application process.

The Small Business Awards ceremony will be Sept. 27 at the Athens State University Gymnasium.

Tickets are available by contacting Brooke Pettus. The cost is $50 for chamber members; $60 for non-chamber members; and $500 for a table of 6.
