HUNTSVILLE — It will be a gathering of all things – and all people – space Monday when North AlabamaWorks hosts its inaugural Alabama Space Roundtable.
It is the start of a nationwide nexus for space career exploration, training, and employment, the organization said.
The roundtable is 8 a.m. to noon at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s Space Camp Operations Center. Registration and breakfast is 8-8:30 a.m., programs are 8:30-10, and networking and tours are 10-noon.
“Responding to industry needs and the National Space Council’s call for a skilled workforce, Alabama Space Roundtable members will drive the future of space talent to inspire, train, and employ students and workers, bridging aspirations with skills to ensure a strong workforce pipeline for the industry,” North AlabamaWorks said in a news release.
Expected to attend are local and national space industry leaders, talent pipeline experts, National Space Council representatives from the President’s Executive Office, local/state/national government representatives, workforce development and education representatives.
“Hear how stakeholders can join this effort to build the Space STEM workforce ecosystem for short-term success and long-term gains,” the release said. “Together we can collaboratively and strategically ignite the continued growth of the space sector and empower aspiring talent.”
