Less than two years after opening its advanced manufacturing facility in North Alabama, Titomic USA is preparing to expand production with the help of a $10.3 million federal loan expected to support dozens of new jobs.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) has approved the financing for Titomic to increase its capacity to manufacture, repair and restore high-performance metal components at its Huntsville operation.

The loan, announced Wednesday, will fund the purchase of an integrated high-pressure cold-spray production cell, allowing the company to move further into industrial-scale manufacturing.

For Titomic, which opened its 59,000-square-foot Huntsville facility in June 2025, the financing represents another step toward establishing North Alabama as a major center for its U.S. operations.

“This financing represents an important milestone in Titomic’s transition from advanced technology development to industrial-scale production in the United States,” said Jim Simpson, CEO and managing director of Titomic Limited.

“EXIM’s support will help us accelerate production capabilities at our Huntsville facility, create highly skilled American jobs, strengthen domestic supply chains, and expand our ability to serve commercial aerospace, space, energy, maritime, and other industrial markets. We are proud to be investing in Alabama and contributing to the resurgence of American advanced manufacturing.”

Titomic specializes in cold-spray additive manufacturing, a process that uses high-velocity metal particles to build, coat and repair metal components without melting the material.

Unlike traditional metal 3D printing, which often relies on high temperatures, cold-spray technology bonds metal particles through high-speed impact. The process can be used to manufacture new components or restore existing parts, with applications in aerospace, defense, energy and maritime industries.

The company’s Huntsville facility, located along Alabama Highway 20, opened in June 2025 as a manufacturing and demonstration center for its advanced metal production technology.

The latest investment is expected to support at least dozens of new full-time jobs in Alabama.  An exact number or hiring timeline has not yet been announced.

The financing comes through EXIM’s Make More in America Initiative, which supports export-oriented domestic manufacturing projects, particularly those involving technologies considered important to national security.

“EXIM’s Make More in America initiative ensures that strategically important production capabilities, like those at Titomic, remain in the United States for years to come,” said EXIM Chairman John Jovanovic. “Under President Trump’s leadership, we are strengthening America’s advanced manufacturing base and supporting well-paying jobs.”

U.S. Rep. Dale Strong, whose district includes Huntsville, also supported the financing effort.

“America needs a strong manufacturing base to remain competitive around the world,” Strong said. “EXIM’s financing for Titomic will support advanced manufacturing in North Alabama and help expand our country’s industrial capabilities. We have the workforce and expertise to lead in this industry, and we need to keep building on that strength here at home.”

Simpson also credited Strong for his involvement.

“We are extremely grateful to Chairman Jovanovic, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and Congressman Dale Strong for their leadership and support in advancing American manufacturing,” Simpson said.

Titomic USA is the American subsidiary of Australia-based Titomic Limited. The company has been expanding its presence in the United States as it develops manufacturing capabilities for commercial and government customers.

According to EXIM, the Huntsville expansion is intended to strengthen domestic supply chains, reduce reliance on overseas manufacturing and increase U.S. production capacity for specialized metal components.

The $10.3 million award is a direct loan rather than a grant, providing financing for equipment that will support Titomic’s next phase of manufacturing growth in Huntsville.
