Huntsville police announced on Monday that Officer Albert Morin returned to duty after being seriously wounded in a March shooting that put him in critical condition.

He was released from the hospital in April.

The department said, “we’re happy to have him back.”

Morin, 34, expressed his sincere thanks for the support he’s received while recovering.

“Thank you to the community and my coworkers for the outpouring of support,” Morin’s statement said. “I’ve read through every card and letter you’ve sent during my recovery. I remain grateful for all the support my family and I have received.”
