HUNTSVILLE – Looking for new ways to expand your horizons in 2025?

Check out the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Alabama in Huntsville at its spring open house next Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. The event, open to the public free of charge, will be in the lobby of Wilson Hall.

Clay Williams, left, program manager for OLLI at UAH, welcomes a guest to the fall 2024 OLLI open house. (Michael Mercier/UAH).

The open house is an opportunity to meet OLLI members, instructors and staff as well as learn more about spring semester plans, including courses, bonus lectures, special events and member interest groups. OLLI is open to ages 50 and up.

“We are excited for our upcoming spring semester with over 60 courses, such as ‘Mary, Queen of Scots,’ ‘Mat Pilates for Beginners,’ ‘Inside the Alabama State House,’ and ‘Elder Law’,” said OLLI Program Manager Clay Williams. “There is no doubt there is a class here for everyone.”

Spring semester will also offer an exploration of Alabama’s cranes and caves – but not in the same course – plus a history of cryptology, German stories, and an examination of jealousy through Shakespeare’s “Othello.”

All these and more will be highlighted at the open house.
