Organizers hope inaugural Tennessee Valley Auto Fest will become ‘staple’

HUNTSVILLE — As the inaugural Tennessee Valley Auto Fest draws near, event organizers are now sharing what attendees and participants can expect at North Alabama’s newest and largest car show.

Event Manager Ed Fausel said he is looking forward to the community coming out for what he believes will be a great weekend.

“We’re excited to welcome car enthusiasts young and old to Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium for the inaugural Tennessee Valley Auto Fest,” Fausel said. “This is set to be a world-class event with something for everyone to enjoy, and we look forward to seeing everyone come by The Joe this weekend for what we think will become a Huntsville staple.”

The Auto Fest is Friday noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. To kick off the event, a Monster Truck car crush will take place Thursday at 5:15 p.m. in front of Gate 2. The event is free and open to the public.

There will also be a fun way for people to donate to a much-needed cause.

“With the recent devastations of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, we are excited to find a way to help victims across the region by donating to Prepare and Respond with our smash car,” said Fausel. “We hope to see everyone take a swing to help hurricane victims.”

For $5, attendees can have three swings at the car with a sledgehammer. P.A.R. is one of many local organizations helping with hurricane relief efforts.

The Auto Fest will feature multiple vehicles including a 1969 Dodge Charger replica of the “General Lee” from the television series “The Dukes of Hazard,” a Boss 429 Mustang from the “John Wick” film series, a customized 1965 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport dubbed “The Imposter,” and a specially built car called “Street Digger.”

John Schneider, most famous for his role as Bo Duke on “The Dukes of Hazzard,” will appear at the event for autographs and photos, while celebrity car builders Steve Mank and David Ankin will also be in attendance.

“Alabama has a rich history in car shows, and we are thrilled to add to that legacy by welcoming the inaugural Tennessee Valley Auto Fest to Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium,” said Chad Emerson, Huntsville City FC managing director of business operations. “Car enthusiasts from across the Southeast, local families, and Huntsville City Football Club supporters are all welcome to experience The Joe in an entirely new way that we believe will help grow the Rocket City as an event destination.”

Tickets to the Tennessee Valley Auto Fest presented by Polaris can be purchased here. Single-day tickets are $10. Car owners who want to display their vehicle at the show can do so for $30.
