Orion Casino Night to benefit Merrimack Hall returns

HUNTSVILLE – With casinos, it’s hard to beat the house.

However, when the house is the Orion Amphitheater and the Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center is the winner, it feels good to fold ’em.

In November, everything is on the table for the second annual Casino Night to benefit Merrimack Hall.

“Merrimack was honored to be the first organization chosen as a community partner with The Orion,” said Lauren Chenoweth, executive director of the Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center. “What a wonderful addition to our community The Orion has been, and what a great example of corporate citizenship.

“The Orion is investing in making our community stronger and more inclusive, along with bringing world class entertainment to our area. We hope you will roll the dice with us at the second Casino Night.”

Guests can donate to play casino-style table games, enjoy cocktails crafted by Orion bartenders and hors d’oeuvres curated by Chef Josh Quick of Odette, and win spectacular prizes at this exciting evening of philanthropy in partnership with Merrimack Hall.

Proceeds from ticket and chip sales will directly benefit Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center. Merrimack Hall thrives on diversity and inclusion, giving people with special needs the opportunity to participate in the arts and to creatively express themselves by hosting various events catering to different ages, skill levels and interests.

These programs are currently not offered in North Alabama. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the organization has relied on donors to provide the socialization and recreational opportunities.

Tickets start at $75 and include access to some 30 casino tables and games with prizes, live music, performances by Merrimack Hall students, hors d’oeuvres curated by Chef Josh Quick of Odette, complimentary N/A beverages, and a special menu of wine, beer, craft cocktails for purchase. VIP tickets are also available and feature early entry to an exclusive cocktail hour with a complimentary drink and passed bites by Chef Josh.

“The Orion team is excited to host Merrimack Hall’s Casino Night for the second year in a row,” said Orion Amphitheater Assistant General Manager Alex Craig. “The Performing Arts are supremely beneficial to people of all abilities, and we are so proud to partner with an organization like Merrimack Hall, that provides such incredible opportunities, education, and space for the individuals it serves.

“We look forward to seeing all of you at Casino Night.”

The event is Nov. 16 and more details will be announced via Orion social media.
