PeggyLee Wright, founder and CEO of The Company You Keep, will serve as the keynote speaker for the inaugural EmpowerHER Women’s Summit, a new event hosted by the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce later this month.
The EmpowerHER Women’s Summit will take place Feb. 25 at the Athens State University Ballroom and is designed to bring together women professionals from across Athens-Limestone County and the surrounding region for a day of leadership development, collaboration and inspiration.
Hosted by Athens-Limestone Chamber President and CEO Pammie Jimmar and Tiffany Malone, CEO of Bright Eye Coaching and Consulting, the summit will feature a slate of speakers representing business, nonprofit and tourism leadership across Alabama.
In addition to Wright, featured speakers include Tami Reist, president and CEO of the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association; Alison Kling, CEO of Free 2 Teach; and Dr. Marcy J. Watkins, chief operating officer of Abilities Plus Inc. and CEO and co-founder of Solutions 4 Success.
An interactive panel discussion will be moderated by WAAY 31 news anchor Demetria Green and will spotlight local women leaders, including Elizabeth Smith Meredith, general manager of Jimmy Smith Buick GMC; Stephanie Mell, COO and CMO of Church Street Restaurant Group; and Lauren Marsh, president of Ridgeline Construction.
Organizers say the summit is designed to encourage meaningful conversation, shared learning and professional growth while creating space for women to connect across industries. Programming will include facilitated discussions, networking opportunities and opportunities to engage with local vendors.
The event will also feature an unlimited coffee bar, sweets bar and a catered lunch for attendees.
Tickets are available online through the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, with sales closing Friday, Feb. 20. Reserved company tables and general admission seating are available.
EmpowerHER marks the chamber’s first women-focused summit and is intended to serve as an ongoing platform for elevating women’s voices, leadership and impact across the Athens community.
