MADISON — The calendar may read December, but it’s never to early to think about America’s pastime.

To that end, the college boys of summer will be heading to Toyota Field this spring when Auburn hosts downstate foe Troy.

The two teams will tangle March 12 at 6:05 p.m. Pepsi Gates open at 5 p.m.

“We look forward to continuing this early spring tradition here at Toyota Field,” said Rocket City Trash Pandas Executive Vice President & General Manager Garrett Fahrmann. “This will be the third year in a row we’ve welcomed Auburn. It’s always a treat to see Aubie.

“And Troy’s visit will mark the first Sun Belt Conference team we’ve hosted, and so we’re excited to welcome them up from the southern part of the state.”

Auburn and Troy are coming off big seasons where both played in last year’s NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers, who finished fifth in the Southeastern Conference, hosted an NCAA Regional.

The Trojans finished third in the Sun Belt Conference and reached the NCAA Regional in Tuscaloosa.

The game is the final tune-up before conference play begins for each club. This is Auburn’s third straight appearance in Madison. The Tigers beat Tennessee Tech 4-3 in 2022 and beat North Alabama 13-1 last season.

Tickets start at $8 and will go on sale to the public Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. They can be purchased at trashpandasbaseball.com/auburn, in-person at the Wicks Family Foundation Box Office at Toyota Field, or by phone at 256-325-1403 ext. 1.

Fans can gain priority early ticketing access by completing the form at trashpandasbaseball.com/auburn.
