Put on your dancing shoes! Free Day of Dance returns to Huntsville

(The Orion/Contributed)

The Huntsville Dance Community is hosting their third annual Free Day of Dance event on September 18-19, 2026. This event celebrates the variety of dancers in the Huntsville community from ballet to hip hop, as well as social and cultural dance styles such as salsa, Bollywood and more.

Doors open at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 18, at the Orion Amphitheater. Attendees will enjoy an array of performances from Huntsville movers and shakers.

Whatever your taste may be, this event has you covered. The Huntsville Dance Community promises an array of performances from jazz to pole to fire flow and more. Keep those good vibes going by busting a move on the dance floor during the after party.

Be careful not to wear yourself out because on Saturday, September 19, attendees are invited to celebrate National Dance Day by participating in free dance classes taught by local instructors at Soles Dance Center. Take your pick from over five hours of free dance classes in various styles – stay tuned into the Huntsville Dance Community social media for more information as class timelines are not yet posted.

Classes begin at 9 a.m. with local vendors joining the fun at 1 p.m. These classes aim to explore new dance styles and encourage connection between members of the Huntsville dance community.

This event is completely free and welcomes dancers of all experience levels, from first-time explorers to experienced dancers.
