Realtors group, ValleyMLS.com earn Great Place to Work certification

HUNTSVILLE — Staff at the Huntsville Area Association of Realtors and ValleyMLS.com are flipping more than houses this year.

They are flipping out about their jobs, too, with the area’s real estate and home listing service.

HAAR and ValleyMLS.com have been “certified” for the second consecutive year as a “Great Place to Work”, an award based on what employees say about their companies.

Ranking 35% higher than the average U.S. company, this year 100% of HAAR/ValleyMLS employees said it’s a great place to work.

“We are thrilled to renew our Great Place to Work Certification,” said Josh McFall, CEO of HAAR and ValleyMLS.com. “Each day we strive to match the culture of professionalism and energy we see from our local Realtors, and our team is dedicated to the success of our community.

“We couldn’t be more proud to receive this recognition.”

Great Place to Work is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation.

The Great Places to Work Certification is not something that comes easily according to Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of global recognition at Great Place to Work. “It takes ongoing dedication to the employee experience.”

“It’s the only official recognition determined by employees’ real-time reports of their company culture,” she said. “Earning this designation means that HAAR and ValleyMLS.com is one of the best companies to work for in the country.”

HAAR and ValleyMLS.com employees tag the companies’ focus on mental health as a factor in creating and maintaining that culture, making it a top priority after establishing “Mental Health Days” this year where employees can take one day each quarter to relax and recharge their minds.

According to Great Place to Work research, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a certified great workplace; employees at Certified workplaces are 93% more likely to look forward to coming to work; and twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits, and have a fair chance at promotion.
