Redstone Arsenal Retiree Appreciation Days pay tribute to dedication of retired veterans

HUNTSVILLE — Redstone Arsenal will soon be honoring and paying tribute to the dedication of retired military personnel and their families with its 53rd annual Retiree Appreciation Day.

“We are proud to welcome our retirees back to Redstone Arsenal for a day of recognition and camaraderie,” said Retiree Services Officer Betty Anderson. “This event is an opportunity for us to show our gratitude for their service and to provide them with valuable resources and support.”

The event will offer a variety of services, including ID card assistance, legal support, flu shots, and finance information.

Additionally, retirees will have the chance to reconnect with former colleagues, learn about new benefits and services, and attend a prayer breakfast and complimentary lunch.

“Retiree Appreciation Day (RAD) is a command-sponsored event honoring the service of retired military personnel and their families,” said Demarrio L. Spence, Public Affairs Specialist for Redstone. “This event provides the latest information on benefits, entitlements, and privileges, allowing retirees to stay well-informed and connected to Redstone Arsenal. Additionally, RAD offers a platform for retirees to voice their concerns and reconnect with former colleagues.

“In line with the Soldier For Life ethos, RAD underscores the ongoing commitment to those who have dedicated their lives to serving our nation.”

The Retiree Appreciation Days are Oct. 24 -25. The main event will be Oct. 25 at the Heiser Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. andd is open to all military retirees, their families, and surviving spouses.
