Registration for Huntsville Parks & Recreation’s after-school programs opens

HUNTSVILLE – The city’s Parks & Recreation Department will open after-school program registration for the 2025-26 school year this week.

Offered at four recreation centers, the program provides high-quality, after-school activities for Huntsville City Schools students in grades 1-6.

The cost is $20 per child per week, with a $10 fee per sibling up to three additional siblings. Registration opens 8 a.m. Monday.

“Our after-school programs are designed with children’s success in mind,” said Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “We’ve created a safe and engaging environment that supports homework completion, recreational activity and exploration of new interests.” 

In addition to time devoted to homework completion, each recreation center will provide snacks and feature physical exercise, outdoor play, arts and games.
