HARTSELLE – State Rep. Parker Moore says the rapid growth in his district is shaping his priorities as he looks ahead to the 2026 legislative session, with infrastructure, energy and economic development at the forefront.
Moore, who has represented Alabama House District 4 since 2018, noted that his district, which includes parts of Morgan, Limestone and Madison counties, is now the fastest-growing in the state. The area covers Priceville, portions of Decatur, Hartselle, Mooresville, Greenbrier, and about a third of the city of Madison, along with a small section of Redstone Arsenal.
“With Space Command coming up here to North Alabama, we have to prioritize infrastructure, not only roads and bridges, but also our energy sector to make sure we have an adequate supply to meet demand,” Moore said. “Working with federal partners, local leaders and Congressman Dale Strong, it’s critical we stay ahead of the growth that’s coming.”
Moore, who serves on the Joint Transportation Committee, announced plans to bring the committee’s annual legislative “Road Show” to his district in October. The event will invite all 130 state legislators to tour key sites across North Alabama.
“We want my colleagues from around the state to see firsthand the industries, military assets, and infrastructure needs we have here,” Moore said. “That means visiting Redstone Arsenal, NASA, our ports, ULA, and our automotive sector like Mazda Toyota. The decisions we make in Montgomery directly impact all of this.”
This will be the first time the “Road Show” has been hosted in North Alabama. Moore said he hopes to make it a recurring event, particularly as Space Command continues its move and the region’s growth accelerates.
“We’re growing so rapidly right now that one of our biggest challenges is simply keeping up,” Moore said. “Bringing state leaders here helps them understand why the investments we’re asking for are so vital to the state’s future.”
