Reynolds, Lomax commended for bills passed during session

HUNTSVILLE — Last week at the Madison County Commission meeting, the Association of County Commissions of Alabama recognized two of Huntsville’s own.

Rep. Rex Reynolds (R-Huntsville), chairman of the House General Fund Committee, was thanked by ACCA for legislation supporting stormwater grants across the state.

Reynolds also oversaw the lower chamber’s authorization of $660 million in water, sewer, stormwater and broadband projects as a product of Alabama’s ARPA distribution this year.

Rep. James Lomax (R-Huntsville) was commended by ACCA for the bill he authored related to poll worker compensation. As signed by Gov. Kay Ivey, the law will increase pay to election poll workers by $50 per day for their service.

ACCS Executive Director Sonny Brasfield and Director of Affiliate and Governmental Relations Lauren Hodge made the presentations to Reynolds and Lomax.

Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon thanked them “for their dedicated service to the state of Alabama and Madison County.”
