Rocket City Young Republicans named Outstanding Club of the Year

HUNTSVILLE — The Rocket City Young Republicans are celebrating statewide recognition after being named Outstanding Club of the Year at the Young Republican Federation of Alabama’s annual convention.

The honor comes just two years after the group launched in Huntsville.

Chairman Daniel Ceci said the award reflects the club’s steady growth and commitment to getting young conservatives engaged in local and national politics.

“It was an honor to be recognized,” he said. “It’s great for people to be aware of what’s going on in our nation and especially in our communities because I think some people don’t quite understand that their vote does matter.”

The club has 25 members and meets monthly at the Brewers Cooperative at Stovehouse. In addition to their regular gatherings, the club hosts social events ranging from Trash Pandas games to football tailgates, aiming to build a strong community among younger voters.

“We’re here to support the Republican Party by getting the younger generation involved,” Ceci said. “That’s everything from educating them about politics and priorities to encouraging them to get out and vote and just overall encouraging civic engagement.”

The Rocket City Young Republicans were recognized in part because of their consistency and momentum, Ceci said. Since launching, the club has hosted monthly meetings and expanded its outreach through events and social gatherings that attract new members.

As for the broader mission, Ceci emphasized the importance of political participation, especially among younger generations.

“One of the greatest rights that we have as American citizens is the right to participate in elections and choose who we’d like to lead our country,” he said.

Ceci said the club is continuing to grow and welcomes anyone interested in getting involved.

“We want to get as many people involved as we possibly can,” Ceci said.
